Mew

Mew is a Danish alternative music band consisting of Jonas Bjerre, Bo Madsen, and Silas Utke Graae Jørgensen. Bassist Johan Wohlert was also a founding member of the band, but left in 2006. Whilst their music may be classified as indie and on occasion (like on And the Glass Handed Kites) progressive rock, they sometimes humorously refer to it themselves as "pretentious art rock". The band's guitarist Bo Madsen refers to the band as "the world's only indie stadium band".

Mew - Frengers (2003)

Frengers
is the third album by Danish band Mew, released in April 2003. The title is a portmanteau of the words friend and stranger. A frenger is a person who is "not quite a friend but not quite a stranger" according to the album's accompanying booklet. Many of the tracks on the album were previously included on Mew's first two albums Half The World Is Watching Me and A Triumph For Man, both of which saw only limited release. Although these tracks were re-recorded for Frengers, only "Am I Wry? No" and "156" differ substantially from their original incarnations. The Frengers version of "Her Voice Is Beyond Her Years" also differs from the version on the first edition of Half The World Is Watching Me, but due to the rarity of that edition, most listeners have similar versions. The song "Her Voice Is Beyond Her Years" features vocals from Swedish singer Stina Nordenstam and "Symmetry" features vocals from 14 year old Georgian Becky Jarrett.

And the Glass Handed Kites is the fourth studio album by Danish band Mew. It was released 19 September 2005 in Denmark, 26 September 2005 in the rest of Europe and 26 July 2006 in the United States.

Compared to previous Mew albums, this album is unique in that the structure is built upon as if it was a single continuous suite. The album has been called 'one long song', an allusion to the tracks' unnoticed transitions.
